SEA WOLVES MENS CANCER PACK

PURPOSE:
– To advocate for male cancer patients on Vancouver Island and in British Columbia.
– To provide emotional and other support to male cancer patients on Vancouver Island and British Columbia.
– To promote and champion men’s cancer issues with medical, clinical, governmental agencies.
– To provide forums for men to discuss their unique cancer needs in confidence.

Our Mission

The Sea Wolves Mens Cancer Pack is dedicated to supporting and advocating for men impacted by cancer on Vancouver Island and throughout BC. We look to connect with men, help them avoid isolation and provide support during their cancer journeys. We are a Not For Profit organization and funds raised go to cancer patients with no administrative fees.

When faced with cancer, women tend to ‘reach out; and men tend to ‘check out’. Being tough doesn’t mean you have to be alone. It’s having the courage to accept help, and knowing we are smarter and stronger as a pack than we are as lone wolves.

We support men cancer warriors with regular meet ups, Facebook mens only forums, retreats, Chemotherapy back packs and just being a local voice for men with cancer by men with cancer. As advocates for men’s cancer we look to be voices to increase funding for men’s cancer, for cancer treatment options and care facilities. ALL funding received is directed back into the community with no administration costs.

Don and Greg are also available for speaking engagements on Vancouver Island.

Chemo Packs

Back packs to support men going through chemotherapy treatment. Includes: contains comfort items including ginger chews, lip balm, hand knitted socks, a blanket, a water bottle and a toque. Kari O’Hara of the NRGH Oncology Unit recently stated “I wanted to reach out and let you know how well the backpacks were appreciated by our patients. It was a pleasure for nursing staff to distribute them to patients who really needed them, and see how much it lifted their spirits and put smiles on faces. They were truly grateful. . .There are many donations that come our way, most have a very feminine flair, like hats, flowered quilts etc. Having these packs for our “guys” was great.”
