# Sea Wolves Men's Cancer Pack

## About
Sea Wolves Men's Cancer Pack is the Vancouver Island chapter of Man Up To Cancer, a not-for-profit peer support organization based in Nanaimo, BC. Founded by prostate cancer survivors Don Helgeson and Greg Brown, it is run by men with cancer, helping men with cancer, so no man has to face a cancer diagnosis alone. 100% of funds raised go directly to men with cancer, with no administrative overhead.

## What We Do
- Regular in-person meetups (coffee, hikes, social gatherings) across Vancouver Island
- Confidential peer support forums for men to discuss their cancer journey
- Chemo Packs: backpacks with comfort items distributed free to men undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment
- Advocacy for men's cancer funding, treatment options, and care facilities with medical, clinical, and government agencies
- Speaking engagements on Vancouver Island

## Chemo Pack Contents
Backpack, blanket, toque, notebook and pen, water bottle, electrolytes, ginger chews, lip balm, wipes, hand lotion, a donated reading book, and donated knitted socks/slippers.

## Weekly/Biweekly Meetups
- Coffee: Tuesdays 9:30am, White Rabbit Coffee, Nanaimo
- Hike: Thursdays 11:00am, Buttertubs Marsh (Jinglepot entrance)
- Beverage: Fridays 3:00pm, Lantzville Legion
- Biweekly Coffee: every second Monday 9:30am, SteamPunk Cafe, Port Alberni
